What is Premarital Counseling?
Premarital counseling is a form of couples therapy that can help you and your partner prepare for marriage. It is intended to help you and your partner discuss several important issues, ranging from finances to children, so that you are both on the same page. It can also help identify potential conflict areas and equip you and your partner with tools to navigate them successfully. Premarital counseling aims to help you build a strong foundation for marriage.
You will begin by each taking an online assessment called Prepare/Enrich, which will reveal areas of strength and weaknesses and invite conversation. I will send you a link to access the assessment. Each partner will receive a
Typically, a couple will meet for 4-5 sessions depending on the material the assessment surfaces and the goals the couple brings to the sessions. Sessions last between 60-90 minutes. Sessions can be done in person or on Zoom.
In the state of Minnesota, you will receive a discount on your marriage license for completing Premarital Counseling.
